What Can We Offer Sponsors? Wear Valley Amateur Swimming Club is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and we have now entered the top 20 competitive swimming clubs in the Country in terms of Achievement (being 17th). As such, we are a High Profile Club with swimmers of National ability. The Great Britain rankings list demonstrates vividly where we are now and where we are going. We have the following opportunities for sponsorship: Swimmers Merit Scheme A scholarship system for the National Group, linked to training attitude, performance & ranking index. Designed by our coaches and introduced in September 2000 this is aimed at senior swimmers competing at County and National levels. North East Counties Five open events are held across Northumberland, Durham and Yorkshire, attracting 11 to 16 year olds over 2 days per event. These events have 23 North East Counties Swimming clubs ranging from Hull to Blythe, Leeds to Newcastle. Durham & District Junior (Diddy) League Especially designed at the younger swimmers, 9 - 12 years old, to compete in teams for their clubs. Structured in 3 divisions of 7 clubs each, events are held over 4 weekends, culminating in the top club representing the area in National Finals. Last year WVASC had 50 swimmers, all supplied with team shirts, and where possible, transport. Training Aid - Digital Video Camera Like most athletes, swimmers benefit from understanding how their technique compares with the best. The introduction of a digital video camera will allow coaches to record swimmers in action and replay for an immediate understanding to gain improvements. This will be used across all age groups and has the potential to be a major tool in improving standards and results.
